Environment Canada’s summer seasonal outlook for the months of June, July and August shows that much of Canada will be warmer than normal….
I know what you are thinking, “Those meteorologists….what do they know” But, if they are right this year, will your air conditioner be ready to do it’s job-keep your home cool during those hot, humid days and nights?
If the answer is “I’m not sure” or “It’s getting old”, you may want to consider an air conditioning assessment and tune-up from a reputable air conditioning contractor. If I were you, I would think about making that call sooner than later. For the past 15 summers, I have received many frantic calls from typically very nice individuals who, in the moment, were very angry and frustrated. Their air conditioner had failed and they needed a service call. They were not too pleased about waiting the average 2-4 days which is very common during the hottest periods of the season.
I realize that most of us are not proactive all of the time but with our air conditioning systems, it is not a bad idea. If your ac system has not weathered the winter well or is just simply getting “long in the tooth”, find out early in the season, get it repaired or replaced and have the peace of mind that it will be ready to tackle the hot weather.
If your air conditioning system is in need of replacement, there are rebates available from the Ontario Power Authority (O.P.A.). The following link explains the program in detail : everykilowattcounts.ca
If you dont have an air conditioning system and would simply like to talk about your options, please do not hesitate to give me a call or send me an email. I am always glad to chat and provide some advice.
Wishing you and your family a very happy, healthy and comfortable season.
